The Care Guide
Ivory leather hides nothing, and that is the point. A little ritual keeps your Empress looking like the moment you slid them on for the first time. Here is everything you need.
First things first
Before they ever touch the floor, give them a coat of a quality leather protectant or waterproofing spray made for smooth leather. Ivory shows everything, so this invisible layer is what keeps scuffs and spills from setting in. Reapply every few weeks of regular wear.
The everyday
After a night out, wipe the leather down with a soft dry cloth to lift dust and oils before they settle. Let them breathe at room temperature, and rotate your pairs so each one rests between wears. Slide in boot shapers or a rolled magazine to hold the tall shaft upright.
When they need more than a wipe
Use a barely damp soft cloth and dab, never scrub. For real grime, reach for a mild leather cleaner made for finished leather and always test a hidden spot first. Skip household soaps, alcohol, and anything harsh. They strip the finish and dull the ivory.
Scuffs and marks
Work a neutral or ivory leather conditioner into the leather a few times a season to keep it supple and even. Light scuffs lift with a neutral cream polish. For deeper marks or anything you are unsure about, a good cobbler is worth every penny.
Weather
These are made for dancing, not downpours. If they do get caught in the rain, blot them dry right away, stuff them with paper to hold their shape, and let them air dry away from direct heat. Never use a hair dryer or radiator, which cracks the leather.
The details
Between wears
Keep your Empress in their dust bag or box with shapers inside, somewhere cool and out of direct sun. Sunlight slowly yellows pale leather, so a dark, dry shelf keeps the ivory true.
